Preparing for the Next One-Resilience

During this active hurricane season, we are witnessing the importance of resilience – the ability to be flexible in adapting to natural disasters. SEPP Chairman S. Fred Singer has an article emphasizing the importance of preparing for the next Ice Age and suggests approaches.

Humanity evolved in the tropics during an era of intense climate change; when long, ice ages gripped much of the, now, temperate regions of the earth. Civilization came forth after the last major ice age, which ended about 12,000 years ago, the Pleistocene Epoch. Singer argues for experiments to develop techniques to moderate the next ice age, be it a major or a minor.

Singer argues for two classes of cooling periods: 1) major ones which are driven by orbital mechanics, the Milankovitch cycles; and 2) minor ones which are far shorter and driven by solar cycles, changing activity of the sun. Numerous minor cooling periods occurred during the current warm period, the Holocene. As seen during the Little Ice Age, with famine, disease, and death, even minor cooling periods can be disastrous for humanity and civilization. Some astrophysicists assert we are entering a period of a quiet sun, indicating a cooling period, akin to the Little Ice Age.

Singer’s analysis is based on his assertion that ability of carbon dioxide (CO2) to absorb infrared radiation from the earth is reaching saturation. Adding more CO2 to the atmosphere will do little to protect the earth from cooling. Earlier laboratory experiments by the US National Bureau of Standards, now the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), and many other groups bears this out. The absorption features of CO2, and other greenhouse gases, are highly logarithmic, diminishing rapidly with additional units.

Subsequently, the 1979 Charney Report published by the National Academy of Sciences claimed that the minor influence of CO2 in the atmosphere may be amplified by increased water, resulting in an increase in atmospheric temperatures through the release of latent heat by the condensation of water vapor. The Charney Report contained no data, laboratory or observational, supporting this assertion. As discussed below, subsequent data advanced by the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and its followers may have significant issues, including the emphasis on surface data that is influenced by many human activities, unrelated to CO2 and other greenhouse gas emissions.

To counter minor cooling periods, Singer suggests experimenting with releasing water vapor in the tropopause, the boundary between the troposphere and stratosphere, at an altitude of about 12 kilometers (40,000 feet). To counter major cooling periods, Singer suggests that once advancing ice is confirmed, releasing black soot onto polar summer ice may help prevent wide-spread glaciation.

No doubt, Singer’s proposals will be highly controversial, and many individuals will express outrage. However, that is the cost of expressing imaginative ideas in a highly politicized world.

Cultural Marxism

There is an excellent article at this link immediately below.  This is how cultural Marxism (the philosophy driving Barack Obama, Bernie Sanders,  Hillary Clinton and Angela Merkel) destroys nations.  Read it and weep for your nation, but steel yourself.  Be prepared.  They are coming for us all.

http://www.nationalreview.com/article/450905/bourgeois-values-scandal-tars-law-prof-amy-wax-racism-charge

The article at the following link is also excellent.  It is authored by the professors discussed in the above link.

This is not idle speculation for a coffee shop conversation or philosophy class.  Activists are at it full time and well funded.

The End of the World as We Know It, with Mark Steyn

Thomas Sowell – The Reality Of Multiculturalism

“There is a plan and design – as our former President Barack Obama stated – “to fundamentally transform America”. This came straight from the communist community organizer himself.”

“The Marxists create an underclass, a disadvantaged group of victims – then they create an oppressor – and foment class envy and hatred resulting in violent protest which brings about the “change” or “transformation” ushered in by our enlightened and complicit leadership.”

“This is a complex situation and there are multifaceted attacks on America… however, understand that the ultimate goal despite the representations… is the destruction of America as we “knew” it. I for one hate to see it passing away… for so goes the original American ideal and limited constitutional government… so goes freedom and liberty in the world replaced by leftist fascism.”-

The Future of European Civilization: Lessons for America (Video) at this link below.   “America has much to learn from Europe’s current condition. The decline in religious faith has led to a universal weakening of European society and a loss of confidence in the value of its civilization. And the effects have been grave: throngs of unassimilated immigrants, military threats from abroad, and confusion about national identity. America, by contrast, still shows many signs of strength. Nonetheless, should we lose our sense of shared identity, Europe’s path likely awaits. What can Americans learn from Europe? Does America have hidden strengths which, if properly used, will allow us to avoid a similar fate? And are there areas in which Europe is faring better than we are?”

Cause cannot follow effect

Atmospheric CO2 concentration trend is observed to lag centuries behind the temperature trend.  Thus CO2 can not act as a driver of climate change.  This means that any human efforts to reduce global warming by reducing human CO2 emissions is doomed to failure, regardless how many countries, leaders and organizations have agreed with the UN in Paris and regardless how much money is spent.
But, Al Gore is back in the theaters and fake news media with his science fiction religion about man-made global warming.  Unfortunately, many publicly funded agencies like NOAA and NASA have not corrected their websites and continue with pronouncements about reducing CO2 emissions in order to prevent various scary global warming/climate change scenarios.
Shaviv and Veizer [2003] have shown that more than two thirds of the variance in the reconstructed tropical temperature variability over the Phanerozoic period (the last 570 million years) can be explained using the variable Cosmic Ray Flux (CRF).  “On the other hand, it was shown that the reconstructed atmospheric CO2 variations do not appear to have any clear correlation with the reconstructed temperature.”(1)
And, “For the Phanerozoic, the estimates of atmospheric pCO2 levels are not only internally inconsistent, but they also do not show any correlation with the paleoclimate record.” (2)  See figure 5 in this paper.
Here, once again, is a partial reference list of science indicating that CO2 changes follow temperature changes.  Of course, the cause cannot follow the effect.

About Greening of the Earth and its drivers

…”Here we use three long-term satellite leaf area index (LAI) records and ten global ecosystem models to investigate four key drivers of LAI trends during 1982–2009. We show a persistent and widespread increase of growing season integrated LAI (greening) over 25% to 50% of the global vegetated area, whereas less than 4% of the globe shows decreasing LAI (browning). Factorial simulations with multiple global ecosystem models suggest that CO2 fertilization effects explain 70% of the observed greening trend, followed by nitrogen deposition (9%), climate change (8%) and land cover change (LCC) (4%). CO2 fertilization effects explain most of the greening trends in the tropics, whereas climate change resulted in greening of the high latitudes and the Tibetan Plateau. LCC contributed most to the regional greening observed in southeast China and the eastern United States…”

Clean energy standard (CES) is unrealistic, unobtainable, and unaffordable

Full report at the link below.  “Key Findings”…
“Given existing technology, the CES’s [clean energy standard of] 80 [%] by [20]50 mandate is unrealistic, unobtainable, and unaffordable. Attempting to meet the mandate could easily cost New York consumers and businesses more than $1 trillion by 2050 while providing scant, if any, measurable benefits.”
“Key Findings”:
” NYDPS and NYSERDA have both claimed that renewable energy and the CES will provide billions of dollars of benefits associated with CO2 reductions. Not so. Regardless of one’s views on the accuracy of climate models and social-cost-of-carbon estimates, the CES will have no measurable impact on world climate. Therefore, the value of the proposed CO2 reductions required under the CES will be effectively zero. Moreover, even if there were benefits, virtually none of those benefits would accrue to New Yorkers themselves.”

Eugenics on a global scale

Think for as long as you can about the implications of the article at the first link below.  Elevated CO2 and High Temperature Improve the Growth of Rice and Chinese Yam.
Who are the individuals and what organizations are pushing to reduce or eliminate CO2 emissions? As this article documents, increasing atmospheric CO2 concentration increases the production of the staple food supply (rice and yams) for the poor people of developing nations. In other words, human efforts to reduce CO2 emissions by the people and organizations pushing global warming/climate change are eugenics if not genocide on a global scale.
They have the signed agreements from the leadership of more than 150 nations.

The U.S. National Climate Assessment is Wrong

“A Half-Century Increase in Global Terrestrial Net Primary Production Driven Primarily by Rising Atmospheric CO2,” by Craig D. Idso.
…”The second “National Assessment” of the effects of climate change on the United States warns that rising temperatures will necessarily result in the reduced productivity of major crops, such as corn and soybeans, and that crops and livestock will be “increasingly challenged.” Looking to the future, the National Assessment suggests that the situation will only get worse, unless drastic steps are taken to reduce the ongoing rise in the air’s CO2 content (e.g., scaling back on the use of fossil fuels that, when burned, produce water and CO2).”
“But is this really the case? If growing crops are increasingly affected, damage should also be showing up in the global ecosystem. Is the productivity of the biosphere in decline?”
“In a word, no! Observational data indicate that just the opposite is occurring.”

Disinformation

It’s not irony that the entertainment and mainstream media industry which constantly promotes diversity and social justice is so judgmental, hateful and utterly rigid in its groupthink. It is intentionally subversive indoctrination. Their blatant hypocrisy and immorality are irrelevant to them. They will do or say anything to achieve their end goals. In their minds, they are talking to the little people, the stupid people, the great unwashed. In their minds, the rules they apply to citizens do not apply to them. In their minds, their end goals justify any means at their disposal. And many of the worst offenders are the preachers, pastors, priests and rabbis and teachers we trust, because they have been subjected the longest to the subversive indoctrination. The creators of socialism/communism/collectivism knew and know that their ideology cannot co-exist with morals and faith in God.

For example, they have invested more than the lifetime of any person alive today to frame, subvert and degrade the pope and leadership of the Catholic church. Decades and untold millions were spent to persuade the people of the world that the Popes supported NAZI’s, the Catholic ban on abortion was wrong, etc. Newspapers and magazines, e.g. Ramparts, which in the 1950s was the media of Catholic diocese of San Franciso was subverted to the revolutionary collectivist end goals during the 1960s. The current Pope is a self-acknowledged socialist, exactly opposite Pope Pius who shielded Jews from Nazis. But Pope Pius was framed by the KGB as a NAZI sympathizer in the pages of Ramparts, Broadway plays, books, news and academia.

The subversion is not limited to the Catholic church. For example, the management hierarchy of the Presbyterian Church USA is controlled to the point that PCUSA promotes Islamic control of Jerusalem. Collectivists don’t care who controls Jerusalem or the Catholic church. Contrary to their platitudes, their goal is to destroy morality and faith in God.

The words diversity, tolerance, social justice, sustainable, etc should alert and warn all God’s people that they are being disinformed. Take care with whom you associate.

University of Cambridge, UK, engineering professor M.J. Kelly provides devastating, peer-reviewed analysis of de-carbonization efforts

DISCUSSION POINTS

* Only fossil fuels and nuclear fuels have the ability to power megacities in 2050, when over half of the then 9 Billion people will live in them.

* As the more severe predictions of climate change over the last 25 years are simply not happening, it makes no sense to deploy the more costly options for renewable energy.

* Abandoned infrastructure projects (such as derelict wind and solar farms in the Mojave desert) remain to have their progenitors mocked for decades.

“I will argue that all the actions taken together until now to reduce our emissions of carbon dioxide will not achieve a serious reduction, and in some cases, they will actually make matters worse….The climate models have now been shown conclusively to be continuing to overheat the earth as 17 years of real world data now show no increase in the globally averaged surface temperature, the original talisman of global warming. The comment that many of the warmest years in the directly recorded history have been in the last decade is not inconsistent with the observed hiatus…A rapid decarbonization is simply impossible over the next 20 years unless the trend of a growing number who succeed to improve their lot is stalled by rich and middle class people downgrading their own standard of living… If we had to feed 9 Billion rather than 1 Billion last time (in the middle of the little ice age), then every tonne of CO2 in the atmosphere will be a help in 2050!”
