Repost: The EPA’s Science Problem, April 15, 2014 by Arnold Ahlert

‘In a stunning admission, EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy revealed to House Science, Space and Technology Committee that the agency neither possesses, nor can produce, all of the scientific data used to justify the [very expensive] rules and regulations they have imposed on Americans via the Clean Air Act.’

“In short, science has been trumped by the radical environmentalist agenda…The EPA and their leftist allies are essentially saying “trust us,” even as they denigrate climate change skeptics for their failure to embrace “settled science.”…

“As it stands now, only EPA-funded researchers do the work and review the work, and nobody gets to see the data,” explained [Johns Hopkins-trained biostatistician Steve] Milloy, who posted its results on his junkscience.com website, revealed the fraud the EPA has been perpetrating for decades.”

“Global warming is nonsense.”

Professor Dr. Leslie Woodcock says there is ‘professional misconduct by Government advisors around the world’ when it comes to claims of man-made climate change. “Global warming is nonsense.”

“The theory is that the CO2 emitted by burning fossil fuel is the ‘greenhouse gas’ causes ‘global warming’ – in fact, water is a much more powerful greenhouse gas and there is 20 time more of it in our atmosphere (around one per cent of the atmosphere) whereas CO2 is only 0.04 per cent.”

“There is no reproducible scientific evidence CO2 has significantly increased [global temperature] in the last 100 years.”

“The theory of ‘man-made climate change’ is an unsubstantiated hypothesis’ – ‘Carbon dioxide has been made out to be some kind of toxic gas but the truth is it’s the gas of life. We breath it out, plants breath it in. The green lobby has created a do-good industry and it becomes a way of life, like a religion.”

“The temperature of the earth has been going up and down for millions of years, if there are extremes, it’s nothing to do with carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, it’s not permanent and it’s not caused by us. Global warming is nonsense.”

“If you talk to real scientists who have no political interest, they will tell you there is nothing in global warming. It’s an industry which creates vast amounts of money for some people.”

“The reason records seem to be being frequently broken is simply because we only started keeping them about 100 years ago. There will always be some record broken somewhere when we have another natural fluctuation in weather.”

“It’s absolutely stupid to blame floods on climate change.”

“This is not the way science works. If you tell me that you have a theory there is a teapot in orbit between the earth and the moon, its not up to me to prove it does not exist, its up to you to provide the reproducible scientific evidence for your theory. Such evidence for the man-made climate change theory has not been forthcoming.”

“It’s become almost an industry, as a consequence of this professional misconduct by Government advisors around the world, not just UK – you can’t blame ordinary people with little or no science education for wanting to be seen to be good citizens who care about their grandchildren’s future and the environment.”

“In fact, the damage to our economy the climate change lobby is now costing us is infinitely more destructive to the livelihoods of our grand-children. Indeed, we grand-parents are finding it increasingly expensive just to keep warm as a consequence of the idiotic decisions our politicians have taken in recent years about the green production of electricity.”

“Carbon dioxide has been made out to be some kind of toxic gas but the truth is it’s the gas of life. We breath it out, plants breath it in. The green lobby has created a do-good industry and it becomes a way of life, like a religion. I understand why people defend it when they have spent so long believing in it, people do not like to admit they have been wrong.”

Emeritus Professor Leslie Woodcock, University of Manchester, UK was educated in the UK and received his PhD at the University of London in 1970. He has held academic appointments at the University of Cambridge, University of Amsterdam, University of Bradford and UMIST where he is Emeritus Professor of Chemical Thermodynamics. He has also served as senior research consultant at Wright-Patterson Air Force Laboratory, as a consultant to Unilever and the International Fine Particle Research Institute, a visiting professor at the University of Singapore, and a guest scientist at the U.S. National Institute of Standards. Most recently, he was teaching a class for a faculty of engineering at Universiti Teknologi MARA in Malaysia on “Modeling Chemical Processes at the Molecular Level.”

Prof. Woodcock is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, a founding editor of Molecular Simulation, and a recipient of a Max Planck Society Visiting Fellowship. Over his career, he has received wide recognition for his research contributions to understanding the behavior of liquids and complex materials. Where is all the angst from the ‘war on women’? Where are the feminists now?

Brandeis should be ashamed and re-examine its own principles.

Here’s an excerpt from Ayaan Hirsi Ali’s intended speech at Brandeis and the rest is at the link below:   “I stand before you as someone who is fighting for women’s and girls’ basic rights globally. And I stand before you as someone who is not afraid to ask difficult questions about the role of religion in that fight…The connection between violence, particularly violence against women, and Islam is too clear to be ignored. We do no favors to students, faculty, nonbelievers and people of faith when we shut our eyes to this link, when we excuse rather than reflect.”

“So I ask: Is the concept of holy war compatible with our ideal of religious toleration? Is it blasphemy—punishable by death—to question the applicability of certain seventh-century doctrines to our own era? Both Christianity and Judaism have had their eras of reform. I would argue that the time has come for a Muslim Reformation.”

“Is such an argument inadmissible? It surely should not be at a university that was founded in the wake of the Holocaust, at a time when many American universities still imposed quotas on Jews.”

“The motto of Brandeis University is “Truth even unto its innermost parts.” That is my motto too. For it is only through truth, unsparing truth, that your generation can hope to do better than mine in the struggle for peace, freedom and equality of the sexes.” ~ Ms. Ayaan Hirsi Ali.     http://online.wsj.com/news/articles/SB10001424052702304512504579493410287663906?mg=reno64-wsj&url=http%3A%2F%2Fonline.wsj.com%2Farticle%2FSB10001424052702304512504579493410287663906.html

“What is additionally repugnant about [Brandeis University president Frederick] Lawrence’s actions is that he blames his cowardice on the students, whose “extraordinary” accomplishments must be the “focus” in “celebrating and honoring”. If the poor little lads and lasses will have their delicate feelings hurt by what Ayaan Hirsi Ali says, then they are neither intellectually nor personally mature enough to be receiving a college degree.” ~ D.C. Alan, Washington D.C., http://www.steynonline.com/6263/wrong-said-fred

“Brandeis said they had changed their mind about Ms Hirsi Ali’s degree because “we cannot overlook certain of her past statements that are inconsistent with Brandeis University’s core values”. Presumably, Tony Kushner’s statement that the state of Israel shouldn’t exist is entirely consistent with Brandeis University’s core values, because no one bothered rescinding his honorary degree.” ~ Mark Steyn.http://www.steynonline.com/6250/degrees-of-separation

Petition for Return of Government to Our Constitutional Principles

Dear Congressman, Dear Senators:

As a patriotic Citizen, with unwavering faith in our Creator, Whose divine hand guided our founding fathers in composing the United States Constitution, I acknowledge that many in current leadership are willfully violating their Constitutional obligations or are complicit in the actions of others infringing the Rights of the People, including, but not limited to, freedom of speech, freedom of religion, right to bear arms, freedom from unreasonable search of person and property and seizure of property, free and fair elections, right to counsel and due process of law, in other words The Bill of Rights.

The President and the Attorney General are selectively enforcing or not enforcing many laws duly passed by Congress, including the Defense of Marriage Act, the Affordable Care Act, the Clean Air Act, the War Powers Act, and US border and immigration laws.  Congress is not acting to correct repeated dereliction of sworn duty by the President and Attorney General, therefore the Congress is also derelict of sworn duty.

For example, Attorney General Holder is charged with Contempt of Congress, but the Congress has not acted to remove the Attorney General.  The Attorney General has perjured himself before Congress, hides documents, and the President has covered the Attorney General’s actions by claiming Executive Privilege.  The Supreme Court ruled in other cases that Executive Privilege may not be used to hide evidence of a felony crime.  Fast and Furious, in addition to the deaths caused thereby, are definitely certainly felony crimes.  Members of Congress as well as the administration are complicit in the cover-up of these crime.

Another example, the IRS illegally targeted groups by delaying required processes, conducting audits and inspections, and illegally promoted the election of President Obama.  Faced with this multiple examples of flagrant abuse of law and rights by the IRS, the Attorney General, The President and Congress have taken no action except to hold hearings.

Another example, Americans were killed in an attack on Benghazi which occurred during the final months of a US presidential election.  These Americans and the U.S. compound were negligently left with insufficient defenses despite repeated requests by Ambassador Stevens and others.  The Obama administration covered up its inaction and negligence in command, thus enabling re-election of President Obama.  But the Congress has not taken any action to correct this negligence, coverup and illegal manipulation of election process.  By itself, negligence in command is an impeachable crime for a commander in chief and members of his administration.

Another example, a special committee appointed by the White House examined the efficacy of NSA spying and the legality of NSA spying on Americans and found that it had not contributed to prevention of any terrorist acts.  The committee also found that NSA’s spying on Americans was begun prior to The Patriot Act, and found that it had no basis in law.  The White House committee recommended that the illegal NSA bulk spying operations be shut down.  The head of the NSA, Hayden, perjured himself in front of Congressional Committee.  Where is the action by the President or Congress and especially Senator Markey and his committee to shut down illegal NSA activities?

For example, the President and members of his administration have been conducting both covert and open regime change operations in multiple  countries, including Egypt, Libya, Syrian, Ukraine and more, including public and covert supply of weapons, money and military.  In two separate criminal complaints, Egyptian lawmakers have charged President Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton with conspiring with the Muslim Brotherhood to overthrow the Egyptian government.  Former Egyptian President Morsi, whom President Obama supported in the Egyptian regime change, is now on trail in Egypt. There was no declaration of war by Congress in Egypt or any of these countries, none of these countries are threats to the United States, the American people have not been informed by our government about these operations, but Americans have died, American military has been used to kill people, and billions of American dollars have been spent waging illegal wars.  These illegal operations continue today.

For example, the President and his administration have been conducting assassinations by drone operations in multiple countries, conducting undeclared wars, which have killed hundreds of innocent civilians.   Humanitarian organizations and even the United Nations condemn these drone attacks.

For example, the President and his administration with the assistance of some members of Congress including Senator Markey have been acting illegally in restraint of free trade and commerce by falsely claiming that carbon dioxide is a pollutant, which they claim is causing unnatural and dangerous increases in global temperature.  But there is no empirical evidence that carbon dioxide causes significant warming or significant danger to humans or the climate, there are only computer models which are not working.  Meanwhile the reports of the NIPCC and more than one thousand peer reviewed studies show, for example among many things, that the climate changes of the last 50 years are natural, not dangerous, and warming (when it has occurred) and higher levels of carbon dioxide are beneficial.  In fact, the government is conducting a massive fraud on the American people. Prices of energy and almost all products and services which are made and delivered by fossil fuels are needlessly high.  Supplies are being constrained under false pretenses by government policies.  Subsidies, grants and contracts totaling billions of taxpayer dollars are being granted under false pretenses.  Companies, employees and stockholders are being regulated and taxed unnecessarily and under false pretense.  By itself, the cost of compliance with unnecessary EPA and DOI regulations would amount to damages of trillions of dollars in fraud trials and probably imprisonment of complicit  public servants.  Government controlled lands are illegally prohibited from being explored and developed.  Industries such as gas pipelines, refineries, mines and power plants are being illegally restrained.  The US government, The President, the EPA, the President’s science adviser John Holdren, and Secretary of State Kerry among many are unconstitutionally relying on the work of an international agency, the UN IPCC, to establish standards, policies and regulations, including but not limited to environmental standards based on the non-scientific, political reports of the UN regarding global warming by CO2 and other greenhouse gases.  Today, there is no empirical evidence that human-caused green house gases cause significant or dangerous increases in warming, and the Senate has not ratified a treaty with the United Nations regarding global warming.  The EPA’s Final Endangerment Finding relies on UN IPCC documents or on secret, unpublished EPA methods which have not been available for Congressional oversight.  Reliance on an international or foreign organization is unconstitutional absent a treaty.  The policies of the U.S. government with regard to global warming or climate change are a fraud and unconstitutional.

For example, the American economy and people faced massive financial losses in the deep recession of 2008 to 2010 and the U.S. taxpayers bailed out banks, insurance companies, car manufacturers and others adding trillions of dollars to the national debt. The Federal Reserve is unable to account for trillions of dollars in secret loans.  Derivatives exposure was blamed for the crash and Great Recession.  A financial reform act was passed by Congress and signed into law by President Obama. Yet today, the US Treasury reports that exposure to derivatives risk is now higher than it was just prior to the crash and Great Recession, and still concentrated in a handful of “too big to fail banks.” Further, there has been no complete audit of the Federal Reserve nor attempt to recover the trillions of dollars in secret, no-interest loans by the Federal Reserve.  A massive derivatives and debt problem of banks, insurance and mortgage companies was socialized and indentured on the American public by their government, and not only has nothing been done to prevent another financial collapse, but the U.S. government and Federal Reserve Bank are monumentally increasing the risk by monetizing trillions of dollars of government debt, a national debt which is now 40% higher than before the crash.  It is difficult to imagine anything that is more financially irresponsible.

This list of examples could continue for many pages.

Therefore, under the rights implicit in our People, as stipulated in the First Amendment, I hereby demand immediate Restoration of our Government under its intended Constitutional Principles, rule of law, freedom and personal liberty, and a return to government “of the people, for the people, by the people,” free of despotic and tyrannical federal leadership.

To begin the recovery of our Rightful Government, we demand immediate, lawful, and orderly replacement of the following office holders: Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Harry Reid, Mitch McConnell, John Boehner, Nancy Pelosi, and Eric Holder according to the process allowed and stipulated in our Constitution.

Islam is what happens when civilization declines.

Excellent history and current perspective are offered in this article.  Islam is what happens when civilization declines.

I am with Abraham and also the Founders and Framers of America.  We need not be involved in their fight, even less instigating regime change and Arab spring.  And unless they seriously take on reformation of their medieval religion/culture, then we should show them the door.

As a historical reminder, the Islamic Caliphate, the so-called Islamic Golden Age, occurred during the so-called Dark Ages of Europe, the period after the fall of the Roman Empire and before the Renaissance.

“The problem in the Middle East isn’t a lack of democracy. It’s the lack of anything to be democratic about.”

“Everyone in the Middle East (who isn’t a Jew, Christian, Kurd, Bahai, Zoroastrian, Armenian, Circassian, Druze, etc.. ) agrees on the importance of Arab and Islamic unity and that their specific flavor of it, their clan, their tribe and their Islamic interpretation should be supreme.”

“It’s not surprising that the Middle East is constantly at war. It’s only a wonder that the fighting ever stops.”

“Saudi Arabia and Qatar aren’t talking to each other. Syria and Turkey are shooting at each other. Not only are the Shiites and Sunnis killing each other in Syria, but the Sunni groups have been killing each other for some time now. There are even two or three Al Qaedas fighting each other over which of them is the real Al Qaeda while, occasionally, denying that they are the real Al Qaeda.” …

“Why can’t the left govern?” by Daniel Henninger (Repost and my comments)

This is an excellent article by Daniel Henninger at the Wall Street Journal.  Hat tip to my friend John for the forward.  I suggest reading Daniel’s article first.

http://online.wsj.com/news/articles/SB10001424052702303325204579463581942405804?mg=reno64-wsj&url=http%3A%2F%2Fonline.wsj.com%2Farticle%2FSB10001424052702303325204579463581942405804.html

My answer to Henninger’s perpetual question, “why can’t the left govern?” is that the left is narcissistic and authoritarian at its core, like an only child. They want and must have it their way, or else.  Many of them are able to closet/submerge/repress their narcissism and authoritarianism for a time and for specific end purposes, but it is when they get what they want that they begin to come out of the closet.  Thus, when they achieve office, they cannot govern, they become tyrants.  Bill Clinton said, “I did it because I could.”  Hitler, Mussolini etc were populists before they came out as fascist tyrants and then they made war.  War is the ultimate ‘or else,’ the inability to see outside their box, outside their own personality.

When Roosevelt’s progressive, populist ideas to fix the economy didn’t work (international economic sanctions and the welfare state for example), then our nation, which is isolationist at its core for many reasons, was led to war,  after “the war to end all wars.”  Obama is exactly the same and we are in grave danger, as I said when he was a candidate.

Based on the reasoning above, as I have said many times, leftist governments eventually lead to war when their ideas fail, unless they are removed first.  The ideas that elected them are not thought out, because they were never intended to be fully implemented.  The ideas were just a means to an end.  And that end is all about them, as Henninger said.  We are at great risk.

Fundamentally, more government, more regulations, more government control is neither liberal nor progressive.  Truly liberal and progressive ideas would lead to more freedom, not less.  That reveals how backwards mainstream politics, discourse and education are today.  When the ends justify the means, this backwards situation is the result, because that end-game rationalization is used to justify lying and all manner of misdeeds.  That end-game rationalization is the revolutionary operating philosophy of Saul Alinsky and his student community organizers like Obama and the Clintons, revolutionaries like Bill Ayers, Leon Trotsky, Vlad Lenin and tyrants like Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, and Mohammad as well as the United Nations.

The true believers did it, then and now.

When will the humanitarians on the left demand that their politicians, whom they elected, reverse the tragic global warming policies that have resulted in millions of Africans starving and dying while sitting on abundant oil, coal and gas resources that could have powered their homes, schools and hospitals and developed their country? Genocide is happening on your watch. Hitler was freely elected. Hitler did not operate the gas chambers, thousands of German citizens did, all over Germany and eastern Europe. Mao did not starve tens of millions of Chinese, thousands of Chinese party members enforced a policy requiring that all metal be turned over to the government, including cookware, farms tools, etc. The true believers did it, then and now.

One bite, one issue, one candidate at a time. (Repost)

“The Revolution was effected before the war commenced. The Revolution was in the minds and hearts of the people. This radical change in the principles, opinions, sentiments and affections of the people was the real American Revolution.” ~ John Adams

The Constitution begins with those three beautiful words, “We the people.”

What this means is that there is no government without us: our sheer numbers, our muscle, our economy, our physical presence in this land.

There can also be no police state—no tyranny—no routine violations of our rights without our complicity and collusion—without our turning a blind eye, shrugging our shoulders, allowing ourselves to be distracted and our civic awareness diluted.

So where do we begin? How do we go about wresting back control over our freedoms and our lives in the face of such seemingly insurmountable odds?

There’s an old adage, albeit not a very palatable one, that says “when eating an elephant take one bite at a time.” The point is this: when facing a monumental task, take it one step at a time.

In other words, we’re going to have to wage these battles case by case, and issue by issue. [Candidate by candidate.]
