What’s the real agenda behind climate change alarmism?

Hawaii’s climate madness

The actions of Hawaii’s governor will financially harm the poorest citizens of our state, further limit business opportunities in the state and produce no change in the climate. He is not proposing to send money outside of Hawaii and so far he is not negotiating with any foreign entities. He proposed to reduce CO2 emission from human sources in Hawaii by moving away from fossil fuels, and to further promote their understanding of “sustainability.” Note, there is no effort or comment about research or methods to reduce the 8,500 tons per day of CO2 that the Kilauea volcano emits into the air everyday, nor to reduce the actually harmful sulfur gas emissions…which tells you this is not about greenhouse gases but “social justice” … and no effort I can see to develop the obvious geothermal resource here. The governor is probably committing a felony federal crime under the Logan Act, a law which was intended to prevent the undermining of the federal government’s position. Hawaii’s one party government policies are indoctrinated in “social justice” dogma and its cronyism.

The climate scam

Here is an clear example of how global elites are attempting to scam you for trillions of dollars for the rest of your life. This graphic is in an alarming report by Vinod Thomas, formerly of the World Bank.

Vinod's fake warming Brookings

The report is anti-Trump, pro-Paris Agreement and published by The Brookings Institution. Brookings is supposedly a reputable, trustworthy organization and this report probably will be reported in mainstream media. However, contrary to the impression presented by this deceitful graphic, neither average temperatures nor temperature anomaly have increased by 10 degrees C, and, using real world data those two trend lines do not overlap but diverge. The divergence of these two trends is evidence against human-caused global warming. I hesitate to post the link to such shabby work, but here it is for reference. (In the report at the link see Figure 2: Carbon dioxide atmospheric concentrations at Mauna Loa and global annual temperature anomaly: 1959–2014.) https://www.brookings.edu/…/future-development/2017/06/05/t… Hat tip: SEPP.org

This graphic below shows the same two trends as the graphic above but instead using data from the pro-global warming Hadley research unit in the UK’s climate bureaucracy. The time periods are not identical but they overlap.

Hadley Temp vs CO2

These two graphs below show the difference between temperature and temperature anomaly.   BTemp vs temp anomaly graphic

Below is global air temperature average according to NASA’s GISS unit at Columbia University in Manhattan.

Oh, and by the way, the World Bank is managing the $1 Billion that Obama already illegally contributed on your behalf to the UN’s Green Climate Fund. They will be loaning it to third world countries, whatever is left of it after UN bureaucrats take what they want.

Much to do about nothing, except of course that the governments of 194 countries, the UN, the EU, a large number of global corporations, most of mainstream media, many NGOs, and global elites want to tax you trillions of dollars.

Nobel Prize winner goes off on global warming

Here’s a TED talk from 2002 by Kary Mullis. It’s funny from beginning to end. Around 20 minutes into it, Mullis goes off on global warming and warmists. If you have not seen this, you are in for a treat.

Mullis shared the 1993 Nobel Prize in Chemistry with Michael Smith for his improvement of the polymerase chain reaction technique for replication of oligonucleotides such as DNA and RNA, arguably the most important development in biology, biochemisty, molecular biology and forensics.

The global climate deception

2007 UN IPCC AR4 WG1 (Chapter 2, p. 135) report states: “Water vapour is the most abundant and important greenhouse gas in the atmosphere. However, human activities have only a small direct influence on the amount of atmospheric water vapour.”  However, the graphic below illustrates the typical deception presented to schools, and to the general public in mainstream media. In addition to omitting the most abundant and important greenhouse gas (i.e. water vapor and clouds), this common deception is further exaggerated by the failure to point out that humans only contribute about 5% of the total CO2.

Deception graphic

Human-caused CO2 is only about 0.117 % of the total greenhouse effect. Natural water vapor and clouds are responsible for 94.99% of the greenhouse warming effect.  CO2 in total is a trace gas in atmosphere at about 0.04%, and humans only contribute about 5% of that 0.04%. For comparison, when you exhale, your breath contains 4% CO2. The concentration of CO2 in air is far too low to cause any significant global warming.

But U.S. politicians, media, bankers, global corporations, NGO’s such as Sierra Club and Greenpeace, as well as the UN, the EU etc have been planning for 3 decades to tax you very heavily for your carbon footprint … these taxes are estimated to be in trillions of dollars.

Here is an excellent article on this subject by Dr. Tim Ball, titled:

Thanks To The IPCC, the Public Doesn’t Know Water Vapor Is Most Important Greenhouse Gas

The fart heard around the world

It is a truly amazing scale of hucksterism that the political leaders of 195 nations, many companies and a large portion of the earth’s population entertain the notion that farts warm our planet. I calculate a slightly different result from Mark Imisides: 1.06 X 10^4 years, i.e.10,000 years devoting the entire planet’s energy output would be required to heat the ocean a mere 1 degree C.  (The IEA estimates that, in 2013, total primary energy supply (TPES) was 5.67 × 10^20 joules of energy.) But, I agree with Mark on the overall impact.

It is fantasy to think that greenhouse gases of any and all types produce any significant warming of the planet.

“In short, our influence on our climate, even if we really tried, is miniscule!” says Mark Imisides, an industrial chemist in Australia. He calculates, “The ocean contains a colossal 1,500,000,000,000,000,000,000 litres of water! To heat it, even by a small amount, takes a staggering amount of energy. To heat it by a mere 1˚C, for example, an astonishing 6,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 joules of energy are required. Let’s put this amount of energy in perspective. If we all turned off all our appliances and went and lived in caves, and then devoted every coal, nuclear, gas, hydro, wind and solar power plant to just heating the ocean, it would take a breathtaking 32,000 years to heat the ocean by just this 1˚C!”

Thanks to Mark Imisides for the useful example.

CO2 cannot cause global warming

Notice in these charts that changes in ocean temperature consistently precede changes in air temperature. That means that the atmosphere is not warming the globe, but instead the globe is warming the atmosphere. That also means that human-produced CO2 is not warming the planet by any measurable amount, no matter how much human-produced CO2 there is and no matter how much climate forcing someone’s theory assigns to that CO2.
Detrended CO2 &Temperature
The entire atmosphere (even less the tiny percentage of the atmosphere that is total CO2, and even less the tiny percentage of total CO2 which is human-produced CO2) does not heat the oceans in any measurable amount. There is simply too much water compared to the amount of air, and the heat capacity of water is much greater than air. The heat capacity of water is almost 6 times greater than air and about double the heat capacity of rock and the amount of liquid water on earth is much larger than the our relatively thin layer of atmosphere.

Human-caused climate change is a futile waste of resources

Even if CO2 concentration in our atmosphere were 100%, ocean temperatures would still control the planet’s atmospheric temperature.

Since warming and cooling of the oceans always precedes warming and cooling of the atmosphere, this means that the oceans are controlling Earth’s temperatures, not the atmosphere. This means that CO2 does not warm or cool the planet in any significant amount, but instead only delays or moderates the temperature change effects that the oceans cause in the atmosphere.

CO2 retains some heat in the atmosphere as a temporary intermediate but in a relatively minor amount compared to water vapor. CO2’s effect is seen most at night in very dry areas such as deserts, and in the cold and dry air of the upper atmosphere and the polar regions, but it is a function of ocean temperature. CO2 causes a delay in warming and a delay in cooling, cycling after in correlation following ocean temperature, similar and co-dependent with water vapor.

Ocean temperatures are controlled by volcanic, tectonic and solar forces. El Ninos are a good example of the dominant control of ocean temperatures on atmospheric temperatures.

I have misplaced the source of the calculations in this table, but these are the correlations with average global temperature. Note that both ocean temperature and solar irradiation correlate with temperature better than CO2 and that ocean warming has a very high correlation. Global warming concerns about CO2 are a futile waste of resources.

The climate deal is dead

Science and economics do not support the Paris Agreement, or the UN IPCC, in addition to the fact that it was illegal for Obama to commit to that agreement and it was also illegal for Obama to send about $1 Billion to the UN Green Climate Fund.  This deal is dead in the water.
