Humanity has only had a tenuous link with reality since we left hunter gathering to settle and create our wonderful civilisation. It is impossible to know what our early ancestors thought but hunter gatherers would not have survived if they did not know how to accept the uncertainties of living at that time.
Civilisation brought with it efficiency improvement and so we were able to establish towns and cities and think about art and music because somebody else was providing food and shelter for us. This is when we lost touch with reality and became incapable of dealing with uncertainty. The biggest sign of this is religion which created a powerful god but without any evidence for his existence. I have never understood this believe but I’m seeing the benefits, which are that when something when wrong we could blame God for punishing us and if we were good, we knew he would make everything good for us. It did mean that evil people had to be identified and killed to appease God, for example witches, even though it was obvious that killing them did not change anything. Our grip on reality and ability to think rationally has never been obvious throughout history. As the appeal of religion has faded and the church has given up on the traditional teaching we now are at a point where we think we, and not God, have the power to control events, and still think that earth is a Garden of Eden which we must maintain in pristine condition.
What makes the present period of psychosis worse than previous is that our scientific knowledge is greater than at any other time and good education is widely available in many countries. Yet the ability to understand and think rationally eludes us more than ever. A deluded young girl and a nonagenarian national treasure are now more relevant than all our scientific knowledge. It is impossible for any of us to know more than a fraction the knowledge we benefit from, and this makes it more important to question and seek evidence for what we are being told. We don’t need any science to look at temperature records and sea levels from the past to know that we are being lied to about a climate crisis. but a majority, and especially those we should expect to be investigating – politicians and journalists – are just as deluded as Greta and David. It is just the same with Covid vaccines. It is not difficult to understand that vaccines go through years of testing and trials to bring them safely to market, but an experimental, untried vaccine has been accepted without question because of the fear generated by the uncertainty of something new.
As Charles MacKay said – we think in herd, go mad in herds, and only recover our sanity slowly and one by one. There is a long way to go, and I am sure with climate and covid the western economy will be in tatters well before humanity comes to its senses.

Fascinating video. We are there. Can or will it be reversed? Vaccine passports are coming and will be a test. ________________________________

The gestapo is already out in Paris checking vaccine passports inside and even outside on the iconic streetside cafe.
