Carry on

David Chaney:  Hey, anyone who follows me or knows me knows I am all for any advancements that save resources, run more efficiently, use resources more efficiently, bring more value to the customer and where these things can be sustained for longer periods of time. Any good business person knows to do these things — for as long as businesses have had to compete and make a profit. These are all natural to that goal–efficient use of resources. However, I am not for working to attain these goals, or any other goals, coercively at the point of the State’s guns, intimidation and plunder. So, most of the “green” movement has been propped up for that exact reason–to give the central planners and their cronies more power. It has not been to achieve their stated goals. UN IPCC officials have admitted their goals of wealth redistribution, not environmental protection. Sure, there are some environmental zealots who had a view of the world encouraged by collectivist agitators that businesses are bad and the cause of environmental challenges. Yet even many of these have realized the real purpose of those who have co-opted the original environmental movements towards their goals of global governance. Yes, let’s develop new technologies — be they solar power, fusion power, and other energy efficiency products and solutions — but let’s let the entrepreneur and the free-market develop them successfully and decide their fate. Let’s not prop them up by coerced taxation and plunder. When I pass a Prius or Tesla on the road I get mad, not because they might be marvelous feats of engineering but that they were only able to be successful by coercive intervention, regulation, taxation and cronyism. All of these are evil collectivist mechanisms. So, I post this post partly with tongue-in-cheek, and part seriously. Fossil fuels have been one of the greatest sources of energy and still are! On a cost-basis they outperform other sources that could only exist by plunder and subsidy. Taxpayers are being raped and we celebrate the rapists. I am not personally impressed with any company that can only make it through coercive State force. Give me my fully blown Hemi powered Camaro street-legal dragster, and I’m good. I’ll help grow a few more trees. Carry on.

Bud: As long as we’re racing, amen and may I share that David? I’ll be in the dual overhead cam 328 Ford AC Cobra. Carry on.

David:   Absolutely! Sounds like a great race, as well! Let’s go!
