Dear Senator Schatz: November 13, 2019

Dear Senator Schatz,

Focus on the business of Hawaii.  Your comments about the so-call “impeachment inquiry” are false and absurd.

“It is a solemn time for our country, and it is unfortunate that it has come to this,” wrote U.S. Senator from Hawaiʻi Brian Schatz in a short statement to the press. “But we take solace in the fact that our founders wrote into the Constitution a remedy for the behavior that was exposed. Although impeachment and removal are severe consequences, so are the high crimes being alleged. The safeguards built into our Constitution only work if we have the courage to use them. The path forward is clear: we must honor our oath, present the facts to the American people, and hold the president accountable.”  What a lot of garbage you write and talk.

The “star” witness today of Democrats on your 3 year witch hunt was the acting ambassador to Ukraine, Mr. Bill Taylor.  Did your staff neglect to inform you that Mr. Taylor said he was no “star” witness and his information was “hearsay” only.  Taylor couldn’t name a single impeachable offense.  He couldn’t share a single firsthand account of President Trump’s Ukraine policy.    He couldn’t name a single qualification Hunter Biden had to serve on the board of Burisma.

The chairman of this sham inquiry, Representative Adam Schiff, failed to name any law broken by President Trump. But there are several laws Schiff himself has broken.

There is no offense, no harm, no crime to ask for a favor as Trump did.  It happens all the time.  It is normal  diplomacy.  In fact, given the available information about Joe Biden and his son, it is the President’s duty to ask for such help.  Any president would be derelict of duty for not asking.

It is in the public’s interest to know if VP Joe Biden withheld $ 1 billion in U.S. loan guarantees to get a foreign prosecutor fired immediately – because his son’s company was being investigated by said prosecutor.  Why don’t you investigate that real crime?  Are you in on their scam too?

You, Mr. Schatz, are derelict of duty.  Your duty here is to demand that your fellow Democrats shut down this witchhunt.  This sham inquiry is just more of the same unconstitutional witchhunt upon which you and your Dem colleagues have wasted 3 years and millions of dollars of the public’s resources in a treasonous coup to unseat a duly elected president.  Do your job or quit.  Shame on you.  You and your colleagues are the criminals here.

Sincerely, your constituent unfortunately,

Clare Livingston Bromley, III
