There has been a continuous effort for decades to subvert the ability of individuals to make logical, educated decisions. Instead, we have been trained to make decisions based on subjective feelings, consensus, political correctness, and deference to authority/experts.
Educational institutions at all levels, governments at all levels and foundations have been doing this for many decades. This is designed so that you have no choice except to trust government.
Today in popular terms it is called woke or wokeness. In terms of political philosophy it is called socialism/communism/collectivism. Lifetime college professor, liberal, philosopher Allan Bloom called it, “The Closing of the American Mind,” but it is not limited to America. Philosophers call it moral relativism, the idea that there is no universal or absolute set of moral principles, truth or facts. It’s a version of morality that advocates “to each her own.” If you think 2+2 = 5, your opinion is just as right as anyone’s.
Wokeness subverts individual achievement and merit, subverts centuries of knowledge, wisdom and history supposedly in favor of democracy and freedom for your assumed group. But the real end result is loss of individual freedom and sovereignty. You demand and vote to be rescued from the fear created by your masters. “You’ll own nothing, and you’ll be happy about it,” proclaimed uber elitist Klaus Schwab at his Global Reset conference in Davos.
Philosopher Jacques Ellul called it “The Technological Society,” wherein the management technologies of narrative and propaganda propagated though mainstream media rule society. The narrative may change tomorrow, and you must decide who or what is right or wrong and how you to make that decision, but you have lost the confidence and knowledge to make that decision and you beg, demand or vote to give up your God-given rights and property to be saved from the crisis of the day.
You want bread and circuses.
