The revolt against human nature

“Socialism is not only, or even principally, an economic doctrine: It is a revolt against human nature. It refuses to believe that man is a fallen creature and seeks to improve him by making all equal one to another. It is not surprising that the development of the New Man was the ultimate goal of Communist tyrannies, the older version of man being so imperfect and even despicable. But such futile and reprehensible dreams, notwithstanding the disastrous results when they were taken seriously by ruthless men in power, are far from alien to current generations of intellectuals. Man, knowing himself to be imperfect, will continue to dream of, and believe in, schemes not merely of improvement here and there but of perfection, of a life so perfectly organized that everyone will be happy, kind, decent, and selfless without any effort at all. Illusion springs eternal, especially among intellectuals.” ~ by Theodore Dalrymple.  Theodore Dalrymple is a contributing editor of City Journal, a senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute, and the author of many books, including Out into the Beautiful World and the recently published Grief and Other Stories.

Red flag the oligarchy

It does no good to imprison those whom someone in government believes might become violent (i.e., red flag laws) if society does not fix the underlying problems that drive people to violence and insanity. There are not enough prisons or police. That is a recipe for violent revolution followed by chaos and anarchy.

Far better, cheaper, and more effective to jail the oligarchs and power-mad politicians who are designing such violence-inducing schemes like identity politics, “white nationalism” and “white supremecy” propaganda, equal outcomes, transgenderism, regime change wars, legalized prostitution, single payor healthcare, Antifa, migrant caravans and open borders, sanctuary cities and campuses, Agenda 21 and 2030, human-caused global warming, spying on all people in the U.S., targetting political opposition by the IRS, running guns to Mexican drug cartels and running surface-to-air missiles from Libya to radical islamists in Syria, bombing and killing innocent people for years by drones and then covering it up… murdering millions of babies by abortion, pedophile islands, enslaving tens of millions to welfare and unpayable debt incurred by out of control government spending, fiat currency. This list could go on.

All of the above and more is brought to you by so-called “progressives,” Democrats and Republicans-in-name-only. Why would anyone get upset? /s

Communism

Communism is a dream for the vain, the God-less who believe this life under the sun is all there is, providing them an excuse to erase the history of God, God-fearing men and evil God-less men so their evil can be done without guilt. The secular collective hive mentality is the arrogant graven image they hold before God and their dream is a nightmare. All of us alive today, and all who have ever lived except One, are not worth the life of a single unborn innocent in the womb. Communism is vanity.

Italian petition against climate alarm

June 19, 2019 translated July 4, 2019

Italian scientists sign petition addressed to Italian leaders. Includes names and credentials of signers.

To the President of the Republic
To the President of the Senate
To the President of the Chamber of Deputies
To the President of the National Council for Freedom and Enterprise

Excerpts from the translation. (Capitalized words are bolded emphasis in in the original.)

PETITION ON GLOBAL ANTHROPGENIC HEATING (Anthropogenic Global Warming, human-caused global warming)

The undersigned, citizens and scientists, send a warm invitation to political leaders to adopt environmental protection policies consistent with scientific knowledge.

But we must be aware that CARBON DIOXIDE IS ITSELF NOT A POLLUTANT. On the contrary, it is indispensable for life on our planet.

However, the anthropogenic origin of global warming IS AN UNPROVEN HYPOTHESIS, deduced only from some climate models, that is complex computer programs, called General Circulation Models .

On the contrary, the scientific literature has increasingly highlighted the existence of a natural climatic variability that the models are not able to reproduce….

This natural variability explains a substantial part of global warming observed since 1850…

The anthropogenic responsibility for climate change observed in the last century is therefore UNJUSTIFIABLY EXAGGERATED and catastrophic predictions ARE NOT REALISTIC.
….
Climate simulation models do not reproduce the observed natural variability of the climate …

It should be remembered that the heating observed since 1900 has actually started in the 1700s, i.e. at the minimum of the Little Ice Age. …

All the evidence suggests that these MODELS OVERESTIMATE the anthropogenic contribution and underestimate the natural climatic variability, especially that induced by the sun, the moon, and ocean oscillations…

In conclusion, given the CRUCIAL IMPORTANCE THAT FOSSIL FUELS have for the energy supply of humanity, we suggest that they should not adhere to policies of uncritically reducing carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere with THE ILLUSORY PRETENSE OF CONTROLLING THE CLIMATE.

Evidence of child abuse by climate alarmists

Ladies and gentlemen, this is evidence of child abuse. This child has been traumatized by global warming/climate change alarmists. One among millions. Where are class action lawyers and their cases?

“This is an orchestrated communist assault on America”

Posted in Uncategorized | Leave a comment

The last time.

The last time the Pope and the leaders of the greatest nations got together on anything, they were claiming the world was flat.

And before that they thought the earth was the center of the universe.  Or, do I have that timing reversed?

Tom

“I suppose I have as much authority as either of them to make predictions so I’ll give us another four and a half billion years, which is the amount of time the climate’s already been changing on the planet.” ~ Tom McClintoch

Representative McClintoch said this referring to comments by Prince Charles, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and others who stated that we have 18 months to 35 years until catastrophic climate events occur.  McClintoch spoke to an appreciative crowd at the Heartland Institute’s annual climate convention.

McClintoch is one of the very rare Republicans in California.  He is a U.S. Representative of California.  The “woke” wet themselves over the last sentence.

Here’s the conference:

I wonder what is happening with this?

Emails Appear To Confirm That President Obama’s DOJ Funneled ‘Slush Fund’ Money To Leftist Orgs

A $1 billion settlement with the “big banks” appeared to go directly to left-leaning activist organizations.

On Tuesday, House Financial Services Committee Chairman Rep. Bob Goodlatte (R-VA) revealed that documents obtained in a separate, ongoing investigation show that former President Barack Obama’s administration directed money intended for victims of Wall Street mortgage meddling to progressive activist organizations who now form much of the “resistance” to President Donald Trump.

Members of the House Judiciary Committee mentioned several weeks ago that they suspected Obama’s Department of Justice had iced out conservative organizations looking for their share of the more than $1 billion legal settlement the DOJ collected from “big banks” who’d played a part in the housing crisis of the late 2000s. The DOJ required banks included in the settlement agreement to make “mandatory donations” to non-profits working on housing and property rights policies.

Yesterday, the same committee said that emails from Associate Attorney General Tony West (obtained by The Daily Wire and linked here), show West and other DOJ officials had been asking colleagues how to allocate the “slush fund” money to organizations “of our choosing,” and requesting advice on how to avoid directing settlement funds to organizations who leaned conservative.

In one email, a senior official even appears to admit that they worded a memo with a mind to “not allowing Citi to pick a statewide intermediary like the Pacific Legal Foundation” because PLF “does conservative property-rights free legal services.”

The internal discussion, Goodlatte argued on the Senate floor Tuesday afternoon, created an atmosphere of collusion, which ensured that only progressive activist organizations like The National Council of La Raza, the National Community Reinvestment Coalition, and the National Urban League, received funds, while conservative organizations who also advocated for improved property rights policies were left out in the cold.

The National Council of La Raza, the National Community Reinvestment Coalition, and the National Urban League, of course, all went on to be key organizations in the anti-Trump “resistance,” though DOJ officials could not have known that at the time — largely because they all likely assumed Hillary Clinton would be President Obama’s immediate successor.

This discovery contradicts sworn testimony from the DOJ’s Deputy Attorney General Geoffrey Graber, who told the Judiciary Committee in February that “the Department did not want to be in the business of picking and choosing which organization may or may not receive any funding under the agreement.”

What has changed?

“What has changed in half a century? As [Laura] Ingraham noted, FDR, [3 term U.S. President Franklin Delano Roosevelt] an icon of liberalism, referred to [General Robert E.] Lee as “one of our greatest American Christians and one of our greatest American gentlemen.”

Asked in 1960 how he could keep a portrait of a man who tried to “destroy our government” in his Oval Office, President Eisenhower wrote his critic back:

“General Robert E. Lee was one of the supremely gifted men produced by our Nation. He believed unswervingly in the Constitutional validity of his cause which until 1865 was still an arguable question in America; he was a poised and inspiring leader, true to the high trust reposed in him by millions of his fellow citizens; he was thoughtful yet demanding of his officers and men, forbearing with captured enemies but ingenious, unrelenting and personally courageous in battle, and never disheartened by a reverse or obstacle. Through all his many trials, he remained selfless almost to a fault and unfailing in his faith in God. Taken altogether, he was noble as a leader and as a man, and unsullied as I read the pages of our history…

“To the degree that present-day American youth will strive to emulate his rare qualities, including his devotion to this land as revealed in his painstaking efforts to help heal the Nation’s wounds once the bitter struggle was over, we, in our own time of danger in a divided world, will be strengthened and our love of freedom sustained.

“Such are the reasons that I proudly display the picture of this great American on my office wall.”

Have some terrible new truths been unearthed about Lee we did not know in 1960?

No. The change has taken place in the poisoned minds of modernity.

Some will never concede there was principle or honor in the cause of a South that declared independence in 1860-61, emulating the 13 colonies that declared their independence in 1776.

In his tribute to Lee in 1960, Ike addressed what was at issue in 1860 that brought on the war.

“We need to understand that at the time of the War Between the States the issue of secession had remained unresolved for more than 70 years. Men of probity, character, public standing and unquestioned loyalty, both North and South, had disagreed over this issue as a matter of principle from the day our Constitution was adopted.”

Ike refers not to a “Civil War,” but to the “War Between the States.” And correctly so. For the South did not seek to bring down the U.S. government, or overturn Lincoln’s election, or seize power in the capital — but to leave the Union, to secede, as Jefferson and John Adams voted to secede from Britain in 1776.
