Things to which I’d like answers

THINGS TO WHICH I’D LIKE ANSWERS
By  E. P. UNUM
August 6, 2020

Every once in awhile I find myself reflecting on many of the things I see and hear about going on in our country. I think back to the prescient words of Abraham Lincoln, “a House Divided cannot stand” and it fills me with a sense of anxiety and concern I have difficulty expressing in words. Here are a few of those things I don’t really understand and would welcome answers to:

1.  New York City voted to defund the police. These, along with firefighters and EMT’s were the same people who ran into the burning and collapsing Twin Towers to rescue people. Many of them perished on that fateful day. Who will be willing to run into the flames of the next attack or the next school shooting where the lives of our children and teachers are at risk?

2.  The presumed Democratic candidate for President, Joe Biden has committed himself to choose a “woman of color” for his running mate for Vice President. Has it ever occurred to anyone that choosing a candidate on the basis of skin color is racist?

3.  The United States Government whose military includes “Tomahawk Cruise Missles” and “Apache”, “Blackhawk”, “Kiowa” and “Lakota” helicopters; whose Seal Team used the code name ‘Geronimo” in the raid that killed Osama bin Laden, and whose Navajo Code Talkers helped save thousands of lives in combat operations in WWII against Japan, now officially objects to the name of the Washington Redskins? How is this important to our lives today and why is it an issue?

4.   I’m just wondering, but at a time when there is so much fear going on in the world about the China Coronavirus, hate-filled rhetoric of politicians in an election year, state and local governments implementing unnecessary ultra-rigorous controls over its citizenry, preventing businesses from doing business and citizens from going to church,  is this really the time to take God out of our lives?

5.  With so many Americans unemployed during this pandemic, why is it that our elected representatives in Congress and the Senate, as well as State Governors and City Mayors continue to receive full salaries and benefits? These people, our elected officials, made the decision to close down our economy and the jobs of millions of Americans. Why are they not held to the same standards as we the people? Why don’t they willingly forego their salaries until we defeat this assault on our nation? Maybe if they were in the same boat with the rest of us, they might be more inclined to work together developing and implementing solutions to our problems instead of continuing to have these schoolyard arguments and get nothing done?

6.  It seems to me, based on their actions to date, that Black Lives Matter (BLM) is a well- funded terrorist organization dedicated to destroying businesses, tearing down monuments and memorials and wreaking havoc on American cities. So, I am all for PLM, abbreviated for Police Lives Matter. They are committed to protecting our people and our businesses and properties. Anyone with me?

7.  Tomorrow is my birthday. I turn 75. I believe that I am now playing with house money. More importantly, I own an AR-15 and two pistols with a boatload of ammunition. You see, I have reached the conclusion that the older I get, the less life imprisonment is a deterrent for me and so, when as and if the BLM crew and their acolytes start causing problems for me and my neighbors, they had best be on good terms with the Lord. I tend to fight like I’m the third gorilla trying to catch a ride on Noahs Ark when it is starting to rain!

8.  When I was in school, history was a serious subject and we were taught about the American Revolution, the Civil War and slavery, WWII, the growth of our nation from an agrarian society to the industrial society and now, today, the informational society. We learned about American Exceptionalism and the fact that America saved Europe from totalitarianism twice in the twentieth century.
And, in the aftermath of WWII, when the world was in complete turmoil, America went about rebuilding 17 nations of Europe under the Marshall Plan and the entire nation of Japan. I once visited Poland and the infamous Auschwitz Prison Camp where hundreds of thousands of Jews, Poles, Gypsies and Gays were tortured and murdered by the Nazis. Someone asked our guide a question:  “why hasn’t this place been burned to the ground, there are such terrible memories here?”  The guide responded “that is exactly why. People must know what happened here so that it never happens again.” That is why history and monuments and memorials are so vitally important. History, whether good or bad, needs to be remembered! You cannot erase history, you can only learn from it.

9.  Is it a coincidence or a figment of my imagination that all of the American cities with the most violence and destruction of businesses and property are all run by Democrats?

10.  I hope everyone in America, Democrat, Republican or Independent remembers how Kamala Harris tried to ruin Brett Kavanaugh’s life and the lives of those in his family. If she is Joe Biden’s choice for Vice President she has an awful lot of explaining to do.

11.  If Joe Biden knows how to fix the problems in America, how to solve the racial divide and how to improve the economic well being of Americans, why the hell didn’t he tell Obama when he was Vice President? He had eight years to do it.  Isn’t it curious that having spent almost fifty years in government, he suddenly has all the answers? Oh, and by the way, if we have “systemic racism” in America, why didn’t Joe Biden tell Barack Hussein Obama, a black man, to address it and fix it?

12.  Here are a few more questions I have:

Are we being quarantined until there are no more germs left in the world or just until after the election?
Why is it OK to stand in line at Home Depot, Wal-Mart, and Costco, but it suddenly is not safe to vote in person?
Can someone explain to me the rationale for the teachers union objecting to teachers returning to work unless (1) police are defunded; (2)There is Medicare for all; (3) all charter and private schools are abolished and (4) 54% of all schools have their ventilation systems improved. How does any of this justify having teachers not report to work?
When I think of Martin Luther King I try to reflect on the times he led riots in our city streets; burned down businesses; looted stores and tore down statues. Then it dawned on me…MLK never did any of those things. Yet, he changed the world! There must be a lesson in this, don’t you agree?

13.   If the U.S. Flag is racist, why did it drape the coffin of Congressman John Lewis? Equally, why did Nancy Pelosi deliver a folded flag to the widow of George Floyd, a convicted criminal?

14.   Just saying,  but what Coronavirus has taught me is that I can survive without the professional athlete, but I don’t think we can survive without the American soldier.

15.   Why did Nancy Pelosi say that it should not be a crime to come to the United States illegally? Am I missing something?

16.   Under Obama the H1N1 Virus resulted in 60.8 million infections; there was zero panic level and China was blamed. Fast forward to today, there are 4.6 million cases of coronavirus reported; the panic level is one of mass hysteria covered 24/7 by the news cycle and Trump is blamed! Wonder why that is?

17.   Many of our young men and women in college or just transitioning to the workplace are of the opinion that socialism is good and, in fact, a better economic system than capitalism. They have been taught this in our colleges and universities but their professors must have been absent on the days they were asked to enumerate those nations where socialism has succeeded. Accepting socialism as an economic system is, in essence, admitting you cannot compete in the real world. You are essentially saying “I am willing to give up my liberty, my religion, my dreams and my property as long as the State (government) commits to taking care of me. Accepting socialism is tantamount to accepting failure even before the challenge is raised. It is the complete opposite of the principles upon which America came into being and which so many have sacrificed their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor to create.

18.  Can anyone tell me why the hell you receive a tax refund if you are on welfare? How does that happen?

19.  One last remark, just in case you are wondering. I am a firm, dedicated believer in the LGBT Movement:
Liberty
Guns
Bible
Trump

An open letter to Democrats

I didn’t write this, but I wish I had !! This is an open letter to all Democrats from a former Democrat.

I just have a few questions for you….Let me start with, I already know you don’t like President Trump…that’s a given, SO

let’s move on from that…

How about the division of America….

Do you really blame Trump for that?

How about when NONE of the DEMOCRATS showed up for his inauguration? Don’t you think that started the division? He hadn’t even been president yet, and EXCEPT for Clinton and Obama, not one democrat showed up….Is that when Trump divided America? Can you imagine if the REPUBLICANS didn’t show up for Obama’s inauguration because they lost??? Can you even start to imagine what would have happened?

How about when 19 minutes after Trump was inaugurated, the Washington Post declared the IMPEACHMENT CAMPAIGN has STARTED? Was that when Trump divided America?

How about when Nancy Pelosi ripped up Trump’s state of the union right in front of the world, showing complete disrespect for the President of the United States? Did that bring the country together and is THAT when Trump divided America?

How about when America had to endure, 3 years and over 30 million dollars spent on trying to PROVE that Trump only won because of RUSSIAN COLLUSION and NOT because America voted him in and 17 democrats did EVERYTHING in their power to PROVE that there was Russian Collusion…and came up with ZERO…?

Was THAT when Trump divided America?

I can’t even start to go over the NEGATIVE PRESS he’s received since his surprise win…

Remember, the DONORS, the likes Bloomberg, who gave 27 million, Tom Steyer who gave 17 million, George Soros who gave 9 million and MANY MORE that gave MULTI-MILLIONS to Hillary, wanted a return on their investment…

Do you really think that donors give MILLIONS UPON MILLIONS just because they love Hillary?

NO, these weren’t campaign donations, they were INVESTMENTS into what HILLARY had promised them when she became president….

They were so sure she would win and they would be SHOWERED with HUGE RETURNS, and when it didn’t happen and they LOST all those millions, they went all out to TAKE TRUMP out of OFFICE by any means possible…

DID YOU KNOW that 90% of the Mainstream media and the corporations that own them, are owned by or run by BIG DEMOCRAT DONORS? You can verify all of that for yourselves…I did…

Since the moment Trump won, even before he was inaugurated, the mainstream media’s reporting was 92% negative on Trump, do you know why?

It was those big donors that lost their dream of MILLIONS of dollars, on their returns that they were going to receive when Hillary was president and they weren’t going to take that loss lightly…They needed to PUNISH TRUMP and those that VOTED HIM IN…

I’ve said this since the night he was elected..

“There is NOTHING the left won’t do to take down our President”, our country and us, no low they won’t go to, to get their power back”, and sadly, we have seen this every single day since his election.

Let me ask you this…Have you ever listened to Trump or appreciated any accomplishment or campaign promises he’s kept, have you ever gone to one of his rallies or have you just closed your mind to ANYTHING he does?

Please ask yourselves the following questions, if you dare…

What has Joe Biden done for America for the last 47 years that he’s held an office?

What did Joe Biden ever do for BLACKS when HE and Obama were in office?

What has Joe Biden ever done in his entire life to create a private-sector job?

What has Joe Biden done to help the American middle class worker?

Let me also ask you this…Why do you think there are so many people tearing down statues, our burning flag, beating up police officers, disrespecting our founders and hating our country?

It comes straight from our SCHOOLS that have slowly been tearing down our history…

If there is a teacher out there, please tell me the following:

Do you teach the truth that it was the DEMOCRATS that were the KKK?

That the GRAND LEADER of the KKK was Robert Byrd, who was elected to congress and served for decades, and that it was Hillary, Bill, and Obama that gave his EULOGY praising him?

That the DEMOCRATS fought the Civil war to KEEP SLAVERY?

That the inner-city ghettoes were created by DEMOCRATS to keep control of slaves after they were freed?

That planned parenthood was founded in inner cities to CONTROL the BLACK POPULATION?

Is any of this in your history books?

Let me ask you this as well.

Can a student speak up when he/she disagrees with a teacher when they say that Trump is a horrible president or the electoral college has to be eliminated? I don’t think so?

Well, I know a student that actually happened to…When the teacher said it had to be eliminated because Hillary lost, and he stated the reason it should stay,

She ripped him apart and gave the entire class a 5 hour test, and stated it was because he DARED to disagree with her…

Is that happening in your schools?

I’m only asking questions….I’d like your answers..

President Trump and his entire family has been vilified, demeaned and disrespected, for one reason and one reason only……HE WON…

Have you noticed the DEMOCRATS only throw tantrums and OBJECT to everything he does and have NEVER ONCE gotten behind him to make America the best it can be? WHY?

They can’t afford to get behind him…he would WIN AGAIN, and they can’t let that happen….if he wins again, the Democrat party will be destroyed and they know it…

Did you notice that the “CAGES” the left claimed that Trump built to put Illegal children in, WERE BUILT BY OBAMA for the very purpose of PUTTING ILLEGAL CHILDREN IN?

Was THAT all over the news when Obama did it? The very same “CAGES”…but the media was silent!!

How about when Trump commuted Roger Stone’s sentence, and was DEMONIZED 24/7 but NOT A WORD when Obama commuted 1715 inmates, which included 330 that he granted on his last day in office…

DID WE EVEN HEAR one WORD about it?

Were there reporters even reporting it…NO! Just look at the difference in the reporting. By the way, since Trump’s been in office he’s commuted 10 people…compare that to Obama…Is that reporting fair?

How about when Biden and Obama allowed the H1N1, the SWINE FLU, to INFECT MILLIONS of Americans before declaring it a health emergency….

Was the press losing it’s minds and calling it the OBAMAFLU AND BLAMING OBAMA and BIDEN for the spread ? SILENCE!

Compare this to the NEGATIVE COVERAGE that Trump got when, he immediately halted travel from China when, in February, Nancy Pelosi went to Chinatown and said come on down, or when DeBlasio, in March, said ride the subways and go to broadway…BUT those same people are blaming Trump for the spread of coronavirus..

A FINAL QUESTION:

What have the DEMOCRATS done to help make America the best, to get behind a president that works tirelessly to care about WE THE PEOPLE instead of using us as political pawns..

What have the democrats done for people of color EXCEPT for GIVING ILLEGALS more rights than citizens and having us pay for it…

JUST imagine what this country could accomplish if the Democrats worked with him on the economy, the coronavirus, the inner cities where he’s created opportunity zones, job training etc.

When Trump tried to get school choice for inner-city students they ran Betsy Devoss out!! The dems running those innercity schools wanted no part of school choice.

Have you ever wondered why it’s cities that have been run, for decades, that have the MOST HOMELESS, the MOST CRIME, the most MURDERS, the worst INNER CITY schools, ARE ALL RUN BY DEMOCRATS???

If you haven’t started asking yourselves those questions, maybe you should..

As I said, my entire family used to be democrats, but NOT ONE will ever vote for a democrat again….They asked themselves the same questions and the answer was clear….

Antifa’s and BLM’s tactics and history

It is deplorable that an organization such as Antifa along with Black Lives Matter (BLM), and the several subgroups of each of these organizations, are dominating cities such as Minneapolis, Portland, Oregon and Seattle.

It is despicable that over 260 major corporations are supporting BLM; directors of these corporations should be reprimanding or firing their CEOs. They are supporting destruction of public and private property and over 100 deaths so far. The list of these companies is provided in a previous blog post here. Many of you work for and probably most of us do regular business with these corporations. I have stopped doing business with most of these companies and I will quit all of them. I suggest that you do the same. We must not stop supporting businesses that support BLM leaders who proclaim, “We will burn down this system.”

Heather MacDonald at Manhattan Institute points out, “In fact, officers are at much greater risk from blacks than unarmed blacks are from police. Over the last decade, an officer’s chance of getting killed by a black has been 18.5 times higher than the chance of an unarmed black getting killed by a cop.”

“Empirical and anecdotal evidence shows that Antifa is, in fact, highly networked, well-funded and has a global presence. It has a flat organizational structure with dozens and possibly hundreds of local groups.”

“Antifa’s stated long-term objective, both in America and abroad, is to establish a communist world order. In the United States, Antifa’s immediate aim is to bring about the demise of the Trump administration.”

“A common tactic used by Antifa in the United States and Europe is to employ extreme violence and destruction of public and private property to goad the police into a reaction, which then “proves” Antifa’s claim that the government is “fascist.””

“Antifa is not only officially tolerated, but is being paid by the German government to fight the far right. — Bettina Röhl, German journalist, Neue Zürcher Zeitung, June 2, 2020.””

“Out of cowardice, its members cover their faces and keep their names secret. Antifa constantly threatens violence and attacks against politicians and police officers. It promotes senseless damage to property amounting to vast sums.” — Bettina Röhl, Neue Zürcher Zeitung, June 2, 2020.”

Impossible to predict the direction of climate change

“I want to point out a simple fact that it is impossible to correctly predict even the sense or direction of the change of a system when the prediction tool [i.e. climate models] lacks and/ or grossly distorts important nonlinear processes, feedbacks in particular, that are present in the actual system.” ~ Mototaka Nakamura, Japanese expert climate modeller

“As Nakamura has written, the global climate models have no predictive value. The UN IPCC and its followers have clearly departed from the scientific method into the world of wild speculation.” ~ Ken Haapala, President, Science and Environment Policy Project, SEPP.org

The UN IPCC reported and then deleted that climate is a non-linear chaotic system which cannot be predicted.

Why should any individual, company, authority or government adjust their behavior based on phony risks? Global climate models have no predictive value.

I have to question your intelligence and your judgment if you base company policy or personal decisions on such non-scientific, phony risks.

What is the cause of this pandemic? Where do we go from here?

Something caused the increase in overall death rate. But I don’t think anyone knows the cause yet. This graphic is from Sweden via Wikipedia here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/COVID-19_pandemic_in_Sweden

Sweden did not lock down its economy, close schools, etc like most other countries. Note that Sweden’s death rate FROM ALL CAUSES is now lower than average.

Is CoV-2 confirmed as the cause of this pandemic?

UPDATE 12 August 2021: This was post was originally published in August 2020. At that late date, I could not find a published report of either of the standard microbiology protocols being fulfilled entirely, which was the reason for the original post. There were pre-prints of research and claims to have fulfilled Koch’s or Rivers postulates, but I found all of them missing something. For example, they used RT-PCR to identify the virus, as I mentioned below, or they infected Vera cells to culture the virus, which was fine, but then did not follow through and infect a model animal with the cultured virus. Or, there was no chain of custody between the cause-effect steps, for example sample provenance was not provided. Some cause-effect link was missing in each publication, or entire steps absent.

For example, sequence homology and microscopy images of SARS CoV2 virus which was cultured in cells and then used to make mice sick does not satisfy cause and effect for Covid-19 when you do not have the provenance of the original SARS CoV2 sample. The sample could have been made in a lab, for example in gain-of-function experiments. You have merely proven that SARS CoV2 in the sample provided can make mice sick. But there is no link in this set of experiments to a sample from a sick human patient. There are many versions of this missing link problem in the literature.

As I said a year ago, SARS CoV-1 was confirmed following Koch’s postulates in 2003 by Dutch scientists. (2) Why is SARS CoV-2 not yet confirmed by Koch’s or Rivers postulates as the cause of Covid-19?

——————- Original post—————

As you know, COVID-19 (aka SARS CoV-2) is said to be affecting senior citizens (like me) more than any other group. But is that really true? Or, is SARS CoV-2 a follow-on infection after pneumonia or other disease which weakened the immune system?

As far as I can find, neither Koch’s postulates nor Rivers postulates (1), the standards for confirmation of cause (etiology) of infectious diseases, has been completed or published for SARS CoV-2. If you have done this virology, or if you can provide a reference to such a report, then please you would be helping us all by letting us know where it is published.

My literature search found no confirmation Koch’s or Rivers’ postulates has been fulfilled for SARS CoV-2, which is commonly called Covid-19, and merely associated with the deaths and disease in this so-called pandemic. A PCR test confirms that a specific sequence is found in the patient sample. An antibody test confirms that the patient has antibodies for a given pathogen. But, an association or correlation of a sequence or antibody with a disease is not equivalent and does not prove cause.

Do your own literature search. The scientists and papers usually mention justification or reason that Koch’s or Rivers’ postulates have not been fulfilled for CoV-2, for example the absence of a validated animal model is mentioned as well as the difficulties with animal models and cell culture media. (3)

SARS CoV-1 was confirmed following Koch’s postulates in 2003 by Dutch scientists. (2) But sequence homology between CoV-1 and CoV-2 has been reported at about 79%, while for example, homology between bat and CoV-2 is about 96%.

Without confirmation of cause following Koch’s or Rivers’ postulates, the world is probably doing extensive and expensive testing for sequence and antibodies and designing vaccines for exosomes or apoptotic bodies.

Time for some due diligence please.
